The cape gooseberry is a small sized low shrub that produces a bright orange berry which is enclosed in a pale brown parchment-like case called the Cape. The berry is the size of a small cherry tomato and packed with flavour , They are delicious eaten straight from the Cape or made into gooseberry Jam. They can be added to salads, desserts and cooked dishes
